It all began with an interest in helping out family friends with their dairy cows and led me on a wonderful journey of butter sculpting that has given me opportunities to sculpt across the United States, including at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Renwick Gallery!

I Started as an apprentice with famed sculptor Norma “Duffy” Lyon when I was 14 years old and now mentor my own kids as they pursue their passions in butter sculpting and beyond. My twins, Grace and Hannah, have completed their apprenticeship and are continuing as assistant designers while starting their own careers in sculpture and costume design respectively. My youngest, Dean, has been helping out for years, but is now an official apprentice as well. It truly is a family affair and I love every minute of it!
